Wing Span Sports was created by 3 cousins who have a passion for sports that started as young kids. We are die-hard Mets, Knicks, Giants, and Rangers fans from the New York area. We are 30, 22, and 20 years old so each of us has a different view on things and life in general based on where we are so it is a great mix of opinions and thoughts. This is a passion project for us with the intention to get our thoughts on sports out to the public instead of just the three of us in group text messages. Here is a little bio on each of us.
Bob- The senior member of the group who is a die hard Met, Knick, and Giants fan. Follows the Rangers as well and has no direct rooting interest in college football or basketball but loves to follow it mostly for prospects for his pro teams. He loves the General Manager side of pro sports and the building of teams. Loves Fantasy sports and has been known to enjoy a few wagers from time to time. Played College baseball and football, basketball and baseball in High School which includes a Long Island Championship in Baseball. Makes a living as a baseball hitting instructor who trained under former Major league player Mike Epstein who was taught by Ted Williams. Owner of Launch Hitting Academy based out of Long Island. You can look at some of his thoughts on swing mechanics at http://www.launhhittingacademy.com. Avid autograph collector which he displays proudly in his man cave. This is one of his favorite items.

Joey- Mets, Knicks, Giants, Rangers Fanatic along with being the biggest Kansas Jayhawk fan on planet earth. Has a story on why he loves Kansas basketball but we still do not understand it. Was Starting Right Tackle at Macarthur high school and pitched for the 2015 Nassau County Championship team despite playing his senior year through a torn knee and not missing a game. Currently plays Division 3 Tennis at Mount Saint Mary College and is working on his degree in History and Special Education where he is bound to make a difference in many lives.
Mike – A big fan of baseball with an allegiance to his favorite players Alex Rodriguez and Ben Zobrist. In 2015 Mike chased Arod’s 2000th RBI and 3000th hit and has talked up Ben Zobrist since he was an underrated utility player in Tampa Bay. He is a huge Carolina Panthers fan and currently works as a school counselor and track coach in North Carolina. Mike is an avid runner who travels around the USA and world running half marathons. Some destinations that he has run in include: Las Vegas, Nashville, San Francisco, Brooklyn, Philly, DC, Mexico, Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe), and on top of the Great Wall of China. In addition to running and counseling Mike is also a writer, having published his first book, Hell’s Ultra, in 2017.
Matt- A diehard Rangers, Giants, and Mets fan and one of the few remaining Matt Harvey supporters. Currently still in High School Matt is a 2 sport athlete, who excels on the court and in the classroom. Matt plans on studying Sports Management and Communications in College. Follow Matt on Twitter @anttiup32.
Marcus – Is our Midwest correspondent, who loves the Bears, Timberwolves, Cubs, Northwestern Basketball, and sadly Notre Dame Football. He spent the last four years of his life getting a pointless marketing degree at Carroll University, while also having a sub-par one year DIII basketball career his freshman year. Currently Marcus works in Chicago and after retirement from the Viceroy Program for Barstool Sports, he has decided to jump right back in to where he left off last year for The Span. Be on the lookout for some questionable blogs from this kid in the future.
