Former 5 Star QB, JT Daniels, Enters Transfer Portal

After starting at QB at the University of Southern California for the 2018 season Daniels looked ahead to take a huge step forward in 2019, but unfortunately he did the complete opposite. In the first game of 2019 Daniels suffers a terrible ACL injury causing him to miss the whole season giving the starting QB job to up and coming star Kedon Slovis. Coming into the 2020 season it looked as Slovis was the favorite for the USC QB job but rumors still said there would be a competition for the job. Daniels has now made the decision to enter the Transfer Portal to start a new career at a new school. Landing a talent like Daniels is a game changer for many teams. People forget that Daniels reclassified to graduate in 2018 as the #2 pro style QB in the nation as well as being a 5 star recruit. His talent under center has been proven so any team thats lucky enough to land him could turn a whole program around.

As of now no one is quite sure where Daniels is looking to play next year and especially with the circumstances we are now living in. With the ongoing pandemic it will be extremely challenging for a player like Daniels to transfer to a school meet the coaches, teammates and practice to be ready for the fall. But with that being said there are still a few teams that could really use a player like Daniels on their team.

The LSU Tigers are coming off in my opinion the greatest single season by any team and it is widely known that they will not be repeating that season again this year. The Tigers are clearly able to work with a transfer QB as the great Joe Burrow was a transfer from Ohio State. The QB situation in Baton Rouge is uncertain but Daniels can fix that and could possibly keep the Tigers in contention in the SEC.

The next team who would greatly benefit from landing JT Daniels would be the Ole Miss Rebels. With new head coach Lane Kiffin landing a talent like Daniels would be huge for the Ole Miss offense and bringing in new recruits. We probably wouldn’t see immediate results from this move but in 2-3 years I think Kiffin and Daniels could turn the Ole Miss program back around.

Much like Ole Miss, Daniels transfering to this school could be a huge help to turn the program around. That school is Florida State, with new Head Coach in Mike Norvell from Memphis a QB like Daniels with a new coach to be the face of the Seminole Program would be huge for a school like FSU. A move like this would help bring in more recruits and such and possibly put FSU back on the national stage.
