My Updated CFB Top 10 Week 9

Make sure to read My Updated CFB Top 10 Week 8 before reading this. This was a wild week for the top 10 with many upsets and matchup between big name teams. The top 3-4 we’re pretty much unaffected this weekend but the bottom of the top will have a lot of shake up after a crazy weekend for all these teams. So with that being said, let’s get into how my top 10 looks after week 9.

Last week: 23-20 W vs #9 Auburn

Next week: Bye

The Bayou Bengals get another top 10 wins under their belt which secures their spot at #1 at this point in the season. The Tigers of LSU are really making a strong case for the playoffs this year after a good year last year with nothing besides a Fiesta Bowl win to show for it.

2000px-Ohio_State_Buckeyes_logo.svg#2 Ohio State Buckeyes (8-0)

Last week: 38-7 W vs #13 Wisconsin

Next week: Bye

Just like LSU, the Buckeyes get another big win under their belt by dismantling the Wisconsin Badgers. As of now the only teams left on their schedule that can beat them are Penn State and Michigan so there is a chance this team suffers a loss or 2 but i’m not sure how likely that may be.

1024px-Alabama_Crimson_Tide_logo.svg#3 Alabama Crimson Tide (8-0)

Last week: 48-7 W vs Arkansas

Next week: Bye

Alabama still found a way to win big this weekend without Tua while their backup QB put up some big numbers. Hopefully Tua is back in time for the LSU game so we all get to see the best game possible between such great teams.

500px-Penn_State_Nittany_Lions_svg#4 Penn State Nittany Lions (8-0)

Last week: 28-7 W at Michigan State

Next week: Bye

This Penn State team is very good this year and don’t look to be stopping anytime soon. If things can fall in the right place for this team the Nittany Lions can sneak right into the playoffs.

1071px-Clemson_Tigers_logo.svg#5 Clemson Tigers (8-0)

Last week: 59-7 W vs Boston College

Next week: vs Wofford

Finally we see a team who is playing next weekend. The Clemson Tigers roll over a very bad opponent yet again still showing nothing special from anyone on the team.

1280px-Georgia_Athletics_logo.svg#6 Georgia Bulldogs (7-0)

Last week: Bye

Next week: vs #7 Florida

The Bulldogs were on a bye this week and look to take down the Gators next week at the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party in Jacksonville, Florida.

florida-gators-logo-png-transparent#7 Florida Gators (7-0)

Last week: Bye

Next week: vs #10 Georgia

The Gators were on a bye this week and look to take down the Bulldogs next week at the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party in Jacksonville, Florida.

1238px-Oregon_Ducks_logo.svg#8 Oregon Ducks (7-1)

Last week: 37-35 W vs Washington State

Next week: at USC

The Ducks control their own destiny at this point in terms of playoff hopes. If they can manage to win out and win the PAC-12 with their only loss coming from a great Auburn team it will be very hard to keep them out of the playoffs.

795px-Oklahoma_Sooners_logo.svg#9 Oklahoma Sooners (7-1)

Last week: 48-41 L at Kansas State

Next week: Bye

With this loss from the Sooners it pretty much removes them from all playoff talk. With such a weak conference and already 1 bad loss I don’t see the Sooners moving back anywhere close to the top 5.

1280px-Michigan_Wolverines_logo.svg#10 Michigan Wolverines (6-2)

Last week: 45-14 W vs #8 Notre Dame

Next week: at Maryland

With 2 losses the Wolverines have no playoff hope but they can still ruin other teams playoffs hopes. With this win over ND it removes the Irish entirely from any playoff talk and with Ohio State still on their schedule they can ruin their season on the last game of the year.
