The day has finally come for NBA fans around the country. This is a big day for all fans and players, specifically Pelicans, Knicks and Lakers fans. This could make or break many franchises and free agent decisions this off season. As a Knicks fan I am very excited and nervous for tonight. It is clear that RJ should be the 3rd pick but being a Knicks fan all these years something that is clear to most people isn’t clear to the Knicks so I’m eager to see what happens. Let’s get into how I think the top 10 picks will look like tonight.
#1 New Orleans Pelicans – Zion Williamson, PF, Duke
This is clearly going to be the first pick in the draft and I think everyone on the face of the earth will be boggled if this isn’t the first pick.
#2 Memphis Grizzlies – Ja Morant, PG, Murray State
Another clear pick in the draft but not as clear as #1. Ja fills the whole at PG for the Grizzlies after the Mike Conoly trade so this pick makes a lot of sense.
#3 New York Knicks – RJ Barrett, SF, Duke
This could be the most important pick of the night for the whole NBA. Many people know that Kevin Durant seems to be looking at the Knicks as a potential landing spot so this pick could make or break the future of the Knicks so I just hope they make the right decision.
#4 New Orleans Pelicans (Los Angeles Lakers) – Jarrett Culver, SG, Texas Tech
This was originally the Lakers pick but after the Anthony Davis trade the rights of the pick go to the Pelicans. This is the part of the draft where it starts to get a bit unpredictable but I think Culver would be the smart choice here.
#5 Cleveland Cavaliers – Darius Garland, PG, Vanderbilt
I don’t necessarily think this is the right choice for the Cavs but I think this is how it’ll turn out. Garland is unproven but has tons of hype so I wouldn’t personally want him on my team with these other players on the board.
#6 Phoenix Suns – Cam Reddish, SF, Duke
This would be the Suns best choice in this spot I think Reddish can compliment Booker and Ayton very well in this upcoming season.
#7 Chicago Bulls – Colby White, PG, UNC
I think White will turn out to be one of this years draft top players in a couple of years so I think this would be a great pick for the Bulls to start a young core around a young PG and 2 big men.
#8 Atlanta Hawks – De’andre Hunter, SF, Virginia
This pick have a huge impact on the NBA as Trae Young has proven he can play in this league but he just needs a few young players to help him out so I think Hunter will compliment Young very well.
#9 Washington Wizards – Brandon Clarke, PF, Gonzaga
This will be an important pick for the Wizards as they have not been able to make much with the roster they already have so maybe a young solid big man in Clarke will improve everyone’s performance.
#10 Atlanta Hawks (Dallas Mavericks) – Nassir Little, SF, UNC
As I was saying before I think Little could be a big help to the Hawks young core and has tons of talent to provide to the team.
