Make sure to read My Updated Top 10: Week 10 before reading this. This week was not a very eventful one for teams inside the top 10. This week and next week the top 10 will pretty much be staying the same as there are no big games unless a top 10 team gets upset. I can’t see the top 10 changing too much before rivalry week. Let’s see how my top 10 looks after week 11.
#1 Alabama Crimson Tide (10-0)
Last week: 24-0 W vs #16 Mississippi St.
Not much of a shock here. Alabama is clearly the best team in the nation and 100% deserves the #1 spot.
#2 Clemson Tigers (10-0)
Last week: 27-7 W vs #17 Boston College
The Tigers were on upset watch this week as many people though Clemson was gonna overlook a pretty good BC team. Clemson also played in weather some of them have never seen before but Clemson left Boston with a win this weekend.
#3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (10-0)
Last week: 42-13 W vs Florida State
This could have been a great game if Florida State was still Florida State but instead it was a blowout. With Ian Book out some though the Irish were also on upset watch but Wimbush actually put on an impressive performance and helped the Irish to a big win.
#4 Michigan Wolverines (9-1)
Last week: 42-7 W vs Rutgers
Nothing much to say here. This Michigan team keeps getting better and better and Rutgers was not any competition for them so the outcome of this game was expected.
#5 Georgia Bulldogs (9-1)
Last week: 27-10 W vs #24 Auburn
With this win Georgia secures a spot in the SEC championship vs Alabama. Georgia’s only path to the playoffs now is beating Alabama in that game which would throw the whole playoff scenario for a spin.
#6 LSU Tigers (8-2)
Last week: 24-17 W vs Arkansas
In my opinion at this point all the teams in the top 10 still have a legit shot at the playoffs besides LSU. With no conference championship possibility for LSU I just can’t see a scenario where they get into the playoffs.
#7 Oklahoma Sooners (9-1)
Last week: 48-47 W vs Oklahoma St.
A very close game for the Sooners this weekend which should scare some Oklahoma fans. It’s clear this offense is very good but the defense is just not there and the playoff committee is not going to like how many points they let up.
#8 West Virginia Mountaineers (8-1)
Last week: 47-10 W vs TCU
The Mountaineers have been rolling ever since the loss to Iowa State. When they take on Oklahoma in a few weeks we will get to see who may possibly represent the Big 12 in the playoffs.
#9 Ohio State Buckeyes (9-1)
Last week: 26-6 W vs #16 Michigan State
A big conference win for Ohio State but let’s be honest they are going to beat Michigan on rivalry week so why even talk about this disgrace of a university.
#10 Washington State Cougars (9-1)
Last week: 31-7 W vs Colorado
The first appearance from the Cougars on this list. After a win over colorado I believe they should be in the top 10.
Teams who have dropped out of my top 10
Kentucky Wildcats
Kentucky got whooped by Tennessee this weekend. With a loss like that I don’t think the Wildcats will make there way back into the top 10 this year.
