My Updated Top 10: Week 7

Make sure to read My Updated Top 10: Week 6 before reading this. Another week if college football and it did not disappoint. This week gave us 2 top 15 matchups and a loss from 4 teams inside the top 10. This is the part of the season where the real teams will start to show their true colors while the not so real teams fall back to where they belong. Let’s see how my top 10 looks after week 7.

#1 Ohio State Buckeyes (7-0)

Last week: 30-14 W vs Minnesota

The Buckeyes are right where they were last week at #1. This game looked to be close for a little but the Buckeyes ultimately came away with this win keeping them at the #1 spot.

#2 LSU Tigers (6-1)

Last week: 36-16 W vs #2 Georgia

LSU has moved up 6 spots after this big win. 2 weeks ago LSU looked to be down in the dumps after a loss to Florida but with this big win they look to be back on track for a playoff run.

#3 Alabama Crimson Tide (7-0)

Last week: 39-10 W vs Mizzou

Bama has moved down 1 spot from last weeks. Alabama is obviously very good but with LSU having wins over #2, #8 and #7 teams they just have a much stronger resume than Alabama as of now and same thing with Ohio State having a win at Penn State so that puts Bama in the #3 spot for now.

#4 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (7-0)

Last week: 19-14 W vs Pitt

Notre Dame has moved down 1 spot from last week but they are still in the playoffs as of now. This game was actually a lot closer than expected and many people thought Notre Dame was gonna lose but the Fighting Irish came back and took the win.

#5 Clemson Tigers (6-0)

Last week: Bye

Clemson was on a bye this week and take on NC State next week

#6 Michigan Wolverines (6-1)

Last week: 38-13 W vs #15 Wisconsin

A Huge win for the Wolverines against rival Wisconsin moving them up 4 spots from last week. This team looks very impressive and with their only loss coming from Notre Dame I think this team can make the playoffs if they keep playing like this.

#7 Texas Longhorns (6-1)

Last week: 23-17 W vs Baylor

The Longhorns are exactly where they were last week at #7. With a big win 2 weeks ago vs Oklahoma the Longhorns took another win this week over Baylor keeping them at the #7 spot.

#8 Oregon Ducks (6-1)

Last week: 30-27 W vs #7 Washington

This is the first time the Ducks have made their way onto my top 10. This team actually looks very good with their only loss coming from Stanford in overtime and now with this win over Washington this puts Oregon in the drivers seat of the PAC-12.

#9 Georgia Bulldogs (6-1)

Last week: 36-16 L vs #13 LSU

Georgia has moved down 4 spots from last week after a tough loss at LSU. Like I said last week I didn’t really see anything special from this team and when it was time to play a real opponent they lost. Georgia being in the SEC West still gives them a shot at the SEC championship after this loss.

#10 UCF Knights (7-0)

Last week: 31-30 W vs Memphis

A new name on the list and it’s the reigning “National Champions”. With all these losses inside the top 10 puts UCF at the 10 spot.

Teams who have fallen out of the Top 10

West Virginia

A disappointing loss for the Mountaineers to Iowa State. Will Grier and the West Virginia offense did not show up last night and it showed on the field. If they can get back on track West Virginia could definitely get back into the top 10.

Penn State

A really tough loss for Penn State vs B1G TEN rival Michigan State giving them 2 losses on the year. With 2 losses already it’s going to be tough for Penn State to get back into the top 10 but they may be able to do it.
