My Updated Top 10: Week 6

Make sure to read My Updated Top 10 : Week 5 before reading this. Wow, What a weekend of college football especially for the teams in the top 10. Week 6 featured 3 losses from teams ranked inside the top 10. There were not many surprises this season up until this week so my top has had a lot of changes with new teams in and teams you’ve seen out so let’s get into how my top 10 looks after week 6.

#1 Ohio State Buckeyes (6-0)

Last week: 49-26 W vs Indiana

Ohio State is right where they were last week at #1. This team is really really really good. I don’t even know what else to say about this team besides they have just been amazing so far this season.

#2 Alabama Crimson Tide (6-0)

Last week: 65-31 W vs Arkansas

Just like Ohio State, Bama is just where they were last week at #2. This team is probably just as good as Ohio State but with Ohio State having a win over Penn State and Bama having no notable wins this far puts the Buckeyes over the top in my opinion.

#3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (6-0)

Last week: 45-23 W vs #24 Virginia Tech

Notre Dame has moved up 3 spots from last week. Wow, this team looks scary. With Ian Book at QB this team looks to be serious playoff contenders if they can keep playing like this.

#4 Clemson Tigers (6-0)

Last week: 63-3 W vs Wake Forest

Clemson has moved up 1 spot from last week. The Tigers are yet to play any great teams but what they have done against teams like Wake Forest is really impressive giving them the #4 spot.

#5 Georgia Bulldogs (6-0)

Last week: 41-13 W vs Vanderbilt

Georgia has moved down 2 spots from last week. Although they won I just don’t see anything special from this team so far. They haven’t played any good teams yet so now they belong in the #5 spot.

#6 West Virginia Mountaineers (5-0)

Last week: 38-22 W vs Kansas

West Virginia has moved up 2 spots from last week. Although this game was closer than expected this West Virginia team looks to be a true competitor for the Big 12. With a QB like Will Grier this team is capable of doing a ton of things so be on the look out for this team.

#7 Texas Longhorns (5-1)

Last week: 48-45 W vs #7 Oklahoma

A team we have not yet seen in the top 10 and after this performance against Oklahoma I would expect to see the Longhorns in the top 10 for a while. After this win over OU Texas looks to be in the driver’s seat for the Big 12.

#8 Penn State Nittany Lions (4-1)

Last week: Bye

Penn State has moved up 1 spot from last week. With a bye this week Penn state did not win or lose but with a loss from Auburn, LSU and Oklahoma this moves Penn state into the 8 spot.

#9 LSU Tigers (5-1)

Last week: 27-19 L vs #22 Florida

LSU has moved down 5 spots after losing to Florida. The Tigers did not play a good game at all but a loss is a loss so that moves LSU down in the rankings.

#10 Michigan Wolverines (5-1)

Last week: 42-21 W vs Maryland

Another team we haven’t seen on this list so far but the Wolverines find their way into the #10 spot. Starting the season off with a loss to Notre Dame looks like it wasn’t as bad as we thought. Notre Dame looks like a real playoff team so with Michigan only losing 24-17 it looks like they still have a shot at the playoffs.

Teams Who Have Dropped out of My Top 10

Oklahoma Sooners

I knew this team would lose eventually and it happened to be against rival Texas. Don’t get me wrong Kyler Murray and the sooners are very good and will most likely find their way back into the top 10 but after this loss I think Oklahoma’s playoff hopes are over.

Auburn Tigers

Another loss for Auburn making them 4-2. Unlike Oklahoma I don’t believe you will be seeing Auburn in my top 10 anymore this season. With 2 losses as huge favorites I don’t believe this team is worthy of being ranked in the top 10.
