Make sure to read My Updated Top 10: Week 3 before you read this. Another great week of college football is done with and some teams showed their true colors this week. There weren’t too many surprises this week so some teams may still be where they were last week but enough said let’s get into how these teams rank out in my opinion.
#1 Alabama Crimson Tide (4-0)
Last week: 45-23 W vs #22 Texas A&M
Alabama is now cleary the best team in the nation for whoever didn’t already think they were. After finally taking on a ranked opponent Alabama showed what their really worth and not to add Tua is scary good and everyone in the nation should be scared of an Alabama team with a heisman worthy QB.
#2 Ohio State Buckeyes (4-0)
Last week: 49-6 W vs Tulane
The Buckeyes are one of the few teams to play a ranked opponent so with a 4-0 record and a top 25 win I think they completely deserve to be #2.
#3 Georgia Bulldogs (4-0)
Last week: 43-29 W vs Missouri
The Bulldogs play their 2nd SEC game against a good team in Missouri. Not to add but Missouri also has a great QB in Drew Lock. Some actually people believe the Tigers were going to upset Georgia this game but the Bulldogs pulled out a great win this week giving them the #3 spot.
#4 Clemson Tigers (4-0)
Last week: 49-21 W vs Georgia Tech
The Tigers of Clemson look to be the only ranked team in the ACC after a huge upset which we’ll get into later. In my opinion both Georgia and Clemson could be interchanged at 3 & 4 as of now, but when we get to see more from both teams later in the season this will not be the case.
#5 LSU Tigers (4-0)
Last week: 32-21 W vs Louisiana Tech
Coach O and the Tigers move to 4-0 while also having 2 top 10 wins. The Tigers won a game they should have so there’s really nothing to talk about this week.
#6 Penn State Nittany Lions
Last week: 63-24 W vs Illinois
Penn State has moved up 1 spot from last week after this B1G win. During this game it looked like Penn State was about to be upset, but the Nittany Lions turned on in the 4th quarter and scored a ton of points to lead them to this big win.
#7 Oklahoma Sooners (4-0)
Last week: 28-21 W vs Army
Oklahoma has moved down 1 spot this week. This game was much closer than what it should have been. A possible playoff team like Oklahoma cannot go to OT vs a team like Army.
#8 Stanford Cardinals (4-0)
Last week: 38-31 W vs #20 Oregon
This is Stanford’s first appearance in my top 10. I didn’t believe Stanford was any good until this week. Although Oregon is only ranked 20 and Stanford was favored to beat them I think Oregon is a great team and Stanford is clearly even greater for beating them.
#9 West Virginia Mountaineers (3-0)
Last week: 35-6 W vs Kansas State
The Mountaineers moved up 1 spot from last week. They also look like they very well could possibly win the Big 12 this year which could possibly get them into the playoffs. The Mountaineers put up a good amount of points this week while also only letting up 6 points. If the Mountaineers want to win the Big 12 there going to have to put up some big points.
#10 Auburn Tigers (3-1)
Last week: 34-3 W vs Arkansas
Auburn has moved back into the top 10 this week after a loss at home 2 weeks ago vs LSU. The Tigers took on Arkansas this week which is really no competition for them so it’s pretty obvious they won by this big of an amount. I was thinking about putting Washington here but since Auburn beat Washington head to head I had to give the #10 spot to Auburn.
Teams who have dropped out of my Top 10
Washington Huskies
Washington falling out of the top 10 has nothing to do with Washington’s performance but only on other teams performances. In my opinion Washington should be ranked around 11-12
Virginia Tech
Not many people saw this upset coming. Virginia Tech has lost 49-35 to Old Dominion. This loss is likely to make Clemson the only ranked team in the ACC. It looks as if what I said about Virginia Tech possibly winning the ACC is now probably not going to happen.
