My Updated Top 10: Week 2

Before reading this make sure to read My Top 10: Week 1 First. Week 2 of college football is over and here is how I believe the top 10 should look like.

#1 Alabama Crimson Tide (2-0)

Last week: 57-7 W vs Arkansas St.

Alabama clearly looks to be the best team in the nation at this point beating both their opponents by 40+ points.

#2 Georgia Bulldogs (2-0)

Last week: 41-7 W vs #24 South Carolina

A big in conference win for the Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs defense and running game looked to be very impressive in this win over the Gamecocks.

#3 Oklahoma Sooners (2-0)

Last week: 49-21 W vs UCLA

An impressive win over a power 5 team looks to be just enough to get the Sooners into that last playoff spot as of now. Kyler Murray is a huge problem for defenses and will continue to be all season.

#4 Wisconsin Badgers (2-0)

Last week: 45-14 W vs New Mexico

An O-Line of Wisconsin paired with Jonathan Taylor in the backfield will be a problem for all defenses who have to face the Badgers. There is no sign of the Badgers slowing down anytime soon and even though they haven’t played any real competition yet I still think they are worthy of the #5 spot.

#5 Clemson Tigers (2-0)

Last week: 28-26 W vs Texas A&M

The Tigers escape Aggieland with a close victory. Although they won, this game should not have been this close and if it wasn’t for late game stupid call I actually think the Aggies would have won this game. So in my opinion the Tigers deserve to go down in the rankings.

#6 Auburn Tigers (2-0)

Last week: 63-9 W vs Alabama St.

Auburn is one of the few teams that played a real team so far, playing the #6 (at the time) Washington Huskies and defeating them as the #9. Auburn will have to face LSU next week at home which will be a great game to prove both teams worth.

#7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (2-0)

Last week: 24-16 W vs Ball St.

Although this weeks game was closer than they may have wanted, the Irish is also one of the few teams to play a real competitive opponent in the first 2 weeks so being 2-0 and having a top 15 win puts them at #7 for me.

#8 West Virginia Mountaineers (2-0)

Last week: 52-17 W vs Youngstown St.

Will Grier and the Mountaineers look to be a serious competitor for the Big 12. This team can score at will and not many defenses in the Big 12 or country will be able to stop them.

#9 LSU Tigers (2-0)

Last week: 31-0 W vs South Eastern

Coach O and the Tigers have been great so far but they will really have to really prove themselves next week at Jordan Hare vs Auburn. Granted they already may have proven themselves with the big win against Miami but it’s too early to tell if that was a win because LSU is good or because Miami is bad so next week will be very telling of how the Tigers stand as a football team in the SEC.

#10 Virginia Tech Hokies (2-0)

Last week: 62-17 W vs William & Mary

The Hokies may or may not have even played a real team this week (William & Mary? What kind of school name is that) but they did play a predominant powerhouse in Florida State week 1 and only let up 3 points. This Hokie team looks to possibly be contenders for the ACC with a really strong defense.
