There’s trouble in the Great Northwest. Portland Trail Blazers star point guard and MVP dark horse Damian Lillard has been listed as doubtful for the Blazers Thursday night showdown against the first place Houston Rockets. The game is a crucial match up for the Blazers who are looking to lock up homecourt advantage in the first round for the first time since 2015.
The 2015 season was the final season of now San Antonio Spur LaMarcus Aldridge’s time in Portland. The Blazers have already locked up their third consecutive playoff appearance since the departure of their former star big and fifth consecutive overall. That being said, locking up the 3rd seed in the West and homecourt would be yet another sign of the progress being made by the league’s second youngest team.
The injury is not considered a threat to Lillard’s availability in the playoffs as the 3x All-Star is listed as day to day.
