Jason Pierre-Paul dealt to Tampa Bay Buccaneers

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the New York Giants and Tampa Bay Buccaneers came to an agreement to send defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul to Tampa in exchange for a third round pick.

The two teams will also swap fourth round picks in the upcoming draft. JPP is coming off a season in which he had 68 tackles with 8.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. JPP played in all 16 games for the Giants last season and is about to enter the second year of his new 4 year contract.

Pierre-Paul still has $35.75 million owned to him over the next three seasons and has a $12.5 million cap hit for the upcoming year.

More to come on this deal and what it means for the Giants going forward. Expect Bradley Chubb, the defensive end from NC State, be in play if the Giants decide to trade down and add more picks come the draft.

  1. I just heard this on ESPN radio here in New York . What are the Giants doing? Are they trying to make cap space so that they can pay Odell Beckham what he’s asking for? Will they draft another qb?
