Adrian Wojnarowski has reported that Wizards All-Star, John Wall, will miss the next six-eight weeks with a knee injury.
Wall is expected to undergo a knee scope procedure set for tomorrow.
Wall has appeared in 37 of the 49 games this year and had already missed time this season with a knee issue. There was concern at the time that Wall had returned from his injury too soon and that future risk was a possibility.
Today that came as a reality and is extremely damaging to the Wizards season. The Wizards currently sit at 27-22 and are sixth in the Eastern Conference. A playoff berth may even be in question if Wall’s injury keeps him out longer than the expected time frame.
Interesting note by Zach Lowe, the Wizards will play 16 of their next 20 games against teams in the playoffs.
The Wizards will have to be active over the next week to ensure they add a point guard to the roster prior to the trade deadline.
Wall is averaging 19.4 points, 9.3 assists, and 3.6 rebounds this season.
