Roy Williams has now landed a five star recruit in five of the past 6 seasons thanks to the commitment of Nasir Little to the university yesterday evening.
Little, who is the 14th ranked prospect in the ESPN top 100 joins four star recruits Coby White (25) and Rechon Black (48) to an already loaded recruiting class.
Little is 6’6 small forward with terrific athletic ability and will likely be a day one starter come next season as he will replace senior Theo Pinson.
Little projects as a high level defender who can defend multiple positions. He’ll have the ability to match up with point guards and power forwards if need be.
He can shoot the three at a high level, back down smaller guards in the post for easy buckets and has a high motor that he displays in the open court in transition.
Little is the type of athlete that is perfect for Roy Williams up tempo system.

However, Little has been in the middle of the controversy surrounding the FBI and the NCAA.
Little was previously considering Arizona and Miami but immediately removed them from consideration once the news broke. Little’s former AAU coach, Brad Augustine, was one of the coaches arrested in the scandal.
This is not saying Little is guilty of anything. Here’s what Little had to say surrounding the story: (Credit to Jeff Borzello of ESPN.com for the quote)
“For me, I just didn’t want to be mixed in a situation where any of the accusations seemed like it was true. Because it wasn’t,” Little said on Wednesday. “Every school I was considering was because I had a genuine interest in them. North Carolina had been the school I wanted, regardless. I just block it out. They can say they want. I just focus on myself, and do what my heart desires.”
Now here’s what Little told ESPN after committing:
“I just love coach [Roy] Williams,” Little told ESPN. “He really cares about the players off the court, which is important. They’re a basketball school, which is something I wanted to be a part of. Coach Roy really knows how to win. I love winning. I really do. And that’s important to me.”
Tar Heels fans should be pumped for this get. This puts North Carolina in serious contention for the 2018 year.
North Carolina is currently filled with young freshman talent for the 2017-2018 year (Sterling Manley, Brandon Huffman, Garrison Brooks, Jalek Felton, Andrew Platek)
Add Seventh Woods, Cameron Johnson, Brandon Robinson, Kenny Williams and Luke Maye who will all be upper classman for the 2018-2019 year and North Carolina is set to be loaded when the 2018 class makes their debut.
North Carolina is still in contention to land Simi Shittu (6th ranked prospect) who is scheduled to visit the campus in November.
