So big news coming from Lawrence, Kansas today. The Jayhawks land the #30 overall recruit in the 2018 class.
This is a big get for the Jayhawks because if the front court depth is going to be a problem in 2017, it sure won’t be in 2018.
de Sousa will join a front court of Mitch Lightfoot, Dedric Lawson, K.J. Lawson, Billy Preston (probably) and Udoka (maybe?). That’s not even including the other recruits the Jayhawks are going to land.
de Sousa is a beast with a good 6’9″ frame who fits in perfectly with the Bill Self system. He will be a little raw, but with the proper coaching and technique, de Sousa can be a big time get for Kansas especially down the road.
It was a surprise because most people assumed the de Sousa would be attending Maryland, but after his visit with PG Devon Dotson (who can commit to KU very soon), de Sousa committed to being a Jayhawk. If the Jayhawks can land Dotson, and Zion Williamson (#1 overall recruit and Kansas is leading he recruitment according to 247sports) Kansas will no doubt have the most experience and talented team in 2018.
