Dustin Johnson has officially withdrew from the Masters after suffering a back injury from falling down the steps at his rental house yesterday afternoon.
The world’s number one ranked player attempted to toughen the injury out and was out on the practice range testing his availability. Initial reports this morning had him playing in today’s event.
Unfortunately, the pain Johnson was experiencing must have been too significant as he withdrew his entry.
Johnson is the reigning PGA player of the year who finished tied for Fourth in last years tournament.
Johnson is coming off a 2016 season in which he also won the U.S. Open, his first major title.
